We received news from Maryanne Welchert, that her precious husband, our "Big Al' passed away this AM 10/15. Maryanne is functioning - bless her heart. It was expected as Al had refused any more chemo these last three weeks that he had been at home. He will be cremated but Maryanne has a long list of favorite places where she will be sharing his remains. A Catholic mass will be said and a local (Reno area) memorial service/celebration of life is planned. Maryanne will also have a gathering in the Walnut Creek area in perhaps a month or so, which will allow their California friends an opportunity to remember Al. Their sons are with Maryanne to help at this difficult time. Please refrain from phone calls for awhile. I'm sure emails would be welcome.

He was a wonderful person that was taken from us way too early.
