Steve's Candle
It is with sadness that I pass this to our SCCA family. Steve Walker, a 22 year member of SFR, died yesterday, Nov. 29, from a very aggressive cancer which was diagnosed only 5 weeks ago.
He was active on the Flag crew during the 80's through the mid-90's.
He is survived by his wife Jo Ann, who was on the
Communications crew, son Robert, age 15, and daughter Anna, age 10.
Services will be held Wed., Dec. 3 at the Passalacqua Funeral Chapel, 901 West Second Street, Benicia. Viewing is from 2-4 and the service will be at 4
PM.
Donations in Steve's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
If you wish to send a card to his family, their address is 675 Ashford Court,
Benicia, CA 94510.

This is sad news about Steve.
He was a great asset to the flag crew for many years and was one of our most capable Turn Marshals. Steve was always smart and efficient, leading his corner crew with a smile and quick wit.
I would describe Steve as an "F&C professional", to the extent that any of us are who volunteer our time at the races! He would always be on time,
well-dressed and ready for business when cars were on-course.
A fine race worker and a very nice person.
