SAN FRANCISCO REGION ARCHIVE

The purpose of the archive is to provide a window on the history of the San Francisco Region (SFR). The SFR has been in existence for nearly 60 years and has a rich history of road racing, solo competition and concours d’elegance. Unfortunately, over the years and through several relocations of the administrative offices, much of the archive material has been lost. However, we do have the following material which may be helpful to individuals looking for specific information:

1. Copies of The Wheel from 1962 to present
2. Copies of SportsCar from 1957 to 1996
3. Race Programs – very limited from the 1950’s to 1970’s
4. Photographs – very limited, in one binder from 1950’s and 1960’s

Information from the above sources is available by contacting the Archivist via email at sfrarchivist@comcast.net. Please note, the archive has no information regarding racecar chassis or serial numbers. 

The Archive is in need of additional material. If you have anything to donate (race programs, newspaper clippings, memorabilia, photographs, event posters, etc) it would be gratefully accepted.  Please contact the Archivist if you have any questions or have items to donate. Thank you.
